Talent in the Town showcases the very best of local talent from solo singers, bands, live musicians and vocal groups young and old. It does this through running its competition Talent in the Town.

Heats for 2009 were held throughout October starting on the in the Upstairs room at
Redditch United Football Club, Bromsgrove Road and were open to any age group and any genre of music or live performance.

Each live heat was held in front of our carefully selected judging panel and audience and the final was due to be held at teh Redditch Borough Council Fireworks Event at Arrow Valley Lake on the 5th November 2009. Sadly due to weather conditions we had to cancel the final and a new date of the 30th January 2009 has been set for the final.

The New Date for the Final of Talent in the Town will now be 30th March 2010. The Final will be held at the Palace Theatre in Redditch from 7pm. Tickets are on sale now from the Palace Theatre box office and are just £3 per person or a family of 4 for £10. Half of the money raised on the night and through ticket sales will go to charity.

Prizes up for grabs to the winning talent:

We've teamed up with a local recording studio who will take the Winning artist(s) under their wing to help them produce a professional recording of their performance
and other tracks which can then be used
to promote the winner across the
Midlands and beyond.
All entrants who to get through to the
final will have the chance to play in front
of an audience of around 15,000 people
at the Redditch Borough Council Fireworks , Arrow Valley Lake where the audience will decide by text vote who the winner should
be. The winner will then be announced after the firework display where they'll have the chance to repeat their performance once again.
Not only will the winner get plenty of promotion through Kingfisher FM at future events, online and on any future FM broadcast during the winner's year they will also get promotion across the Midlands Community radio network giving the winner(s) a wider coverage.
